It's Hard Letting Go

Every successful creative I know has had to overcome many obstacles.

There is one that sticks out the most amongst all their stories.

Maybe there are a few successful creatives that have not had this one particular fear, actually, I am sure there is, I just haven’t met one yet.

The fear of something not working out is tough for anyone, but for a creative, it is especially difficult.

We put ourselves into everything we do so there is a form of ownership, ego, and feeling proud of what we’ve created.

To have something that is part of us fail, well hurts, sucks, and makes any creative want to give up.

So what’s the cure?

Learning to accept that you are not your art and what you put out into the world.

Learning to accept you can never be any of the people who inspire you because you’re you, and you are unique.

Learning to accept your worth isn’t defined by a single piece of art but by the catalog of work you’ll leave behind

Learning to accept you will always have the fear of failure.

Not everyone is a dreamer

Not everyone is meant to be a dreamer

You are though!

For you, creating isn’t a thing you do but something you have to do, to feel like you

Most people, creating as a hobby something they do to keep their mind off work

For you, creating isn’t a hobby you do, but something you do to feel more like you and alive
