It Took Us 2 1/2 Years To Get Here

Back in 2017, I was splitting rent on a Recording Studio in Burbank California.

During this time another room in the facility opened up and both my studio partner snatched the empty studio which was larger.

This left a vacant studio space and we needed to find someone to occupy it ASAP.

Anyone who’s had a roommate can relate to the stress of not just finding a roommate but a roommate who is not going to drive you insane and will respect the boundaries.

Steven had moved to Los Angeles a few months prior and both my studio partner and I knew Steven was a good person, very keep your head to the grindstone, show everyone respect type of person.

We also knew he recently got a job as a YouTuber for an audio company and probably needed a cool studio to film and record in.

So I hit up Steven about the space and sent him pictures.

Steven drove out to Burbank the same day and that’s all she wrote.

I didn’t really know, know, Steven at this point.

On the days I was in the studio working, Steven and I would engage in small chats.

What should have been studio water cooler talk would turn into 2 hour long conversations about anything and everything.

Steven and I had a passion for learning and helping others.

Steven and I would always talk about recording our conversations and turning them into podcasts but we were both so busy and to be honest, had no idea how to do it.

It is hilarious to think about, two audio engineers not knowing how to start a podcast!

Fast Forward to early 2022.

Hilariously enough Steven and I somehow both quit our jobs at the same time.

We had a call to catch up and realized that we both opened doors of opportunities we said “let's finally start that podcast for fun”.

It took a few more weeks to get started because we were both in burnout phases.

But we set out a mini plan of how we wanted to bring value to listeners.

What were things we learned that we wanted to help give people a leg up on so they can either lower the risk or avoid all together of crap we went through?

This podcast is part productivity, part how-to, part “hey we made these mistakes here’s how not to” and a little bit therapeutic.

We are still learning but as we grow and develop we are excited to create a place on our own terms where creatives like us have people from experience sharing not just the “what you need to do” but also the hardships and successes of that journey which is always more helpful than a how-to guide.
